Wind Energy
Wind energy is generated by converting wind currents into other forms of energy using wind turbines.

Wind Turbines
Australia is well suited to wind generation. The most effective locations are those that offer strong laminar winds sufficient to drive a turbine. Wind systems should only be installed in areas with open sites, on tall towers, where they will not be disrupted by buildings, vegetation or undulating terrain.
Wind turbines can be connected to grid, off grid and hybrid systems. Although off grid is the most common use, especially in rural Australia. These are generally in combination with alternate technologies, such as a wind/solar combinations, thereby taking full advantage of seasonal and daily variations in wind and solar production.
